Cable Technician - Night Shift (Odessa, TX)
About the Role
Champion X is seeking a driven Cable Repair Technician for our night shift team in Odessa, TX. This position offers hands-on experience working with high-voltage Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) cables in a safety-focused, shop-based environment. If you have a mechanical or electrical background and thrive in fast-paced settings, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your technical skills and grow your career with an industry leader.
Responsibilities
- Perform cable builds, repairs, and splicing for ESP cables with precision and attention to safety protocols
- Conduct high-voltage testing and ensure accurate documentation of test results
- Operate cable spooling equipment and handle repetitive, hands-on cable tasks
- Troubleshoot basic electrical issues and perform quality checks on all work
- Maintain clear, professional communication with team members and customers
- Adhere strictly to safety standards and use required personal protective equipment
- Work a consistent night shift schedule: 7:00PM - 7:00AM, 11 days on/3 days off (every other Fri/Sat/Sun)
Required Skills and Experience
- Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel)
