Job description

Aluminum Welder/Fabricator

Position Summary

The Aluminum Welder/Fabricator is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling aluminum components and structures according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production schedules. This position requires strong fabrication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality welds while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum materials and components

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders

• Fabricate and assemble aluminum parts, frames, and structures to specification

• Measure, cut, grind, and fit materials prior to welding

• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and structural integrity

• Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drills, and other shop tools

• Maintain welding equipment and work area in safe and clean condition

• Work closely with production and engineering teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations

• Identify and communicate material or production issues to supervisors

• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines

• Assist with general shop duties as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of aluminum welding/fabrication experience preferred

• Proficient in MIG and TIG aluminum welding

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding safety practices

• Ability to use measuring tools accurately

• Forklift experience a plus

• Valid driver’s license a must

• Strong attention to detail and workmanship

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods

• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions within a shop environment

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment

• Exposure to welding fumes, sparks, noise, and moving equipment

• Required use of PPE including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe boots
