Job Overview:
The Meter Reader will accurately read and record commercial electrical, water, and gas meters for billing purposes using a smart phone (Android or iPhone). The meter locations are in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. Schedule will be 30-40 hours for one week, monthly. Starting pay $25.00 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform meter reads on commercial electrical, water, and gas Will also perform re-reads when necessary
  • Clear photos of meters must be taken
  • Readers should notate and/or inform management of any issues or changes that occur
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures such as wearing Personal Protective Equipment and reporting all safety concerns
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School Diploma, GED or technical background preferred
  • Certificates, licenses, and registrations required: Valid Driver's License, with a clean driving record, the ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Personal vehicle will be used for travel to different sites. Mileage reimbursement will be provided at the standard IRS rate (72.5 cents per mile as of January 1, 2026).
  • Employees in this role are required to provide and use a personal cell phone for work-related duties. A portion of cell phone expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Genea's cell phone reimbursement policy.
