What is Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)?

Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a set of communication standards for transmitting voice, video, data, and other network services over traditional telephone networks. Introduced in the 1980s, ISDN allows for the simultaneous digital transmission of these services through a single line, improving speed and quality compared to older analog systems. ISDN is commonly used for video conferencing, broadcast media, and backup internet connections, although it has largely been replaced by newer broadband technologies in many regions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) engineer?

To thrive as an ISDN Engineer, you need a solid understanding of telecommunications protocols, networking fundamentals, and ISDN technology, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with network analyzers, ISDN routers/switches, and certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+ are commonly required. Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and adaptability help engineers address client needs and troubleshoot complex issues. These competencies ensure reliable network performance, efficient service delivery, and effective collaboration with technical teams.

What are some common challenges faced by Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) engineers, and how can these be managed on the job?

ISDN engineers often encounter challenges such as troubleshooting connectivity issues, managing legacy hardware, and ensuring compatibility with modern VoIP systems. Effective communication with clients and other IT teams is vital, as ISDN networks frequently interface with broader telecommunication infrastructures. Proactive maintenance, regular software updates, and thorough documentation can help manage these challenges and minimize downtime. Staying current with emerging technologies also prepares ISDN engineers for future transitions, such as migration to all-IP networks.

Job description

At MJH Life Sciences our success is measured by your success! If you set your standards high and want to contribute to a winning team, we'll provide you with every opportunity to help grow our company and your career. Our associates come from all backgrounds, sharing one key quality: determination to succeed. We value being Service Focused, having a Passion for Winning, Innovation, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. Nothing means more to us than hiring people with these attributes. If you believe you're right for the job, this is the place to prove it!

Mesmerize, a segment of MJH Life Sciences and the leader in patient education digital advertising, is seeking a Digital Network Coordinator to support and oversee the company's digital operations. You will monitor system performance, coordinate installations, troubleshoot network issues, and serve as a key liaison between technical and operations teams to ensure seamless digital campaign execution. This role is for someone who is organized, quick to problem-solve under pressure, and uses AI tools to work more efficiently across monitoring, documentation, and operational support tasks.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor quality assurance dashboards to ensure Salesforce fields are properly updated and network performance meets established standards
  • Use AI tools to streamline daily checklist management, summarize system status updates, draft escalation communications, and improve the efficiency of routine digital operations tasks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve digital network issues independently, escalating unresolved issues to the appropriate technical or operations team member with clear documentation of steps taken
  • Prioritize tasks effectively and pivot quickly to address emerging challenges without losing momentum on existing workload
  • Act as a liaison between the technical and operations teams, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of issues that cross team boundaries
  • Create and complete daily checklists to maintain quality assurance standards across the digital network
  • Provide support to the digital operations team during large-scale projects, contributing to execution and follow-through
  • Participate in weekly and monthly check-ins with leadership to review progress, surface issues, and contribute to goal-setting and continuous improvement
  • Assist leadership on focused initiatives designed to drive business value and operational efficiency

What Sets You Apart

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in digital operations or a related field, with a track record of managing network monitoring, troubleshooting, and quality assurance responsibilities
  • An AI-native mindset. You actively use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or operations and productivity platforms to manage checklists, draft communications, summarize system performance data, and handle routine coordination tasks more efficiently - and you can speak to the impact
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; Salesforce experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and act decisively under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - nothing in your queue falls through the cracks
  • Clear and professional communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to coordinate effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and adaptable with a collaborative team mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Bachelor's degree required

AI Capability Expectation

Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they are currently using AI in their digital operations or coordination work. This includes:

  • Specific tools in active use and how they support network monitoring, issue documentation, status reporting, or routine operations coordination
  • Examples of how AI has helped you manage higher volumes of operational tasks, reduce response times, or improve the accuracy and consistency of quality assurance processes
  • How you use AI to stay organized and on top of competing priorities in a fast-moving digital operations environment
  • Bonus: examples of AI-assisted workflows or documentation systems that improved digital operations efficiency or issue resolution speed

Compensation Range

$50,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Benefits Overview

We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Health insurance through Cigna (medical and dental)
