Position Summary

The CNC Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities and developing customer relationships for the company’s precision machining and gear manufacturing services. This role focuses on identifying customer needs, promoting advanced manufacturing capabilities, managing quoting activity, and supporting long-term business growth within industrial and manufacturing markets.

The position requires strong technical knowledge of CNC machining processes, gear manufacturing capabilities, manufacturing operations, and precision component production, along with the ability to communicate effectively with engineering, purchasing, quality, and operations personnel at customer organizations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within industrial and manufacturing markets
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through regular communication, customer visits, and business development activities
  • Promote company capabilities including Swiss CNC machining, multi-axis machining, mill-turn processing, gear hobbing, gear grinding, and high-volume production
  • Develop opportunities for precision-machined components, industrial gears, and custom gearing applications
  • Support customer applications involving complex machining, castings, and tight-tolerance manufacturing
  • Manage customer RFQs, quotations, proposals, pricing discussions, and follow-up activities
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to support quoting and feasibility discussions
  • Coordinate with engineering, quality, production, and operations teams to support customer requirements and project launches
  • Work with internal teams to develop turnkey machining and gearing solutions for customers
  • Maintain and grow existing customer accounts through proactive relationship management
  • Develop and maintain sales pipelines, forecasts, and account activity records
  • Participate in customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and industry trends
  • Support company profitability goals through strategic pricing and account development
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality regarding customer and company information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years of sales, technical sales, business development, or account management experience within CNC machining, precision manufacturing, gearing, or contract manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, close-tolerance manufacturing, gearing applications, and machining cost drivers
  • Experience working with industrial manufacturing customers
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or ERP systems
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Swiss CNC, multi-axis machining, and gear manufacturing environments
  • Experience selling precision-machined components, industrial gears, or manufacturing services
  • Knowledge of gear manufacturing processes including hobbing, grinding, and finishing operations
  • Knowledge of high-volume production machining and complex manufacturing solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field preferred

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use office equipment for extended periods
  • Ability to visit manufacturing facilities and customer locations
  • Ability to travel for customer visits, meetings, and industry events as needed
