Job description


• Set up and operate all types of gear manufacturing equipment including gear cutters, gear grinders, gear shavers, lapping machines, etc., to produce a wide variety of gears and splines including spiral bevel, helical and hypoid gears.
• Set-ups and work must be held to extremely close tolerances.
• Advises and assists in development of new gears and gears cutting processes.
• Tests and checks gears using gear testing and checking machines and equipment.
• Sets up and/or performs all grinding on case hardened surfaces.
Tools & Equipment Used:
• All types of gear manufacturing, testing, and checking equipment, machinists' hand tools, precision measuring instruments.
Experience & Other Requirements:
• Three years' experience as a Gear Cutter and Grinder plus two (2) years of related experience.
