As a Material Logistics Specialist, you will be at the heart of our operations, responsible for receiving, shipping, stocking, and managing materials to support production and customer needs. Your proactive approach to identifying constraints and prioritizing tasks will ensure we meet critical deadlines and exceed expectations.
Job Description
In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate with internal teams and external partners, handle essential administrative tasks like customs documentation and certificates, and perform inventory support functions to maintain efficiency and accuracy. From pulling parts for production to managing hazardous materials, your expertise will keep our operations running smoothly.
We're looking for a detail-oriented professional with a high school diploma (or equivalent), basic computer knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds. If you bring 5+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, and stockroom operations, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of industry regulations, and a knack for effective communication, we want you on our team. Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the receipt, shipment, and/or stocking of material/finished products, equipment or goods required to support the business.
  • Support shops and work cells with material by pulling parts and providing supplies as requested. Completes all required transactions in the appropriate business computer system or by other methods as prescribed.
  • Proactively identifies possible constraints and manages priorities to meet customer requirements.
  • Performs a variety of administrative tasks, which may include but are not limited to Customs documentation, Certificates of Conformance, 8130, Airway Bills, report generation.
  • Communicates with internal customers (production, contracts, repair administration, inspection, finance, DCMA- Defense Contract Management Agency) as well as external customers and suppliers.
  • Performs all inventory support functions as required (e.g. managing material flow; performing weekly cycle counts; executing sales orders; releasing work orders; acting as a liaison between planning, purchasing and receiving inspection; interfacing with other departments/ plants)./
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • The individual will have the responsibility and authority to carry out all assigned tasks.

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
  • Ability to lift/move material up to 35 pounds. May be required to work with hazardous materials. Work environment requires standing, walking, climbing, bending, twisting, kneeling, sitting and reaching.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

Desired Skills / Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years related job experience (2 to 3 years shipping, receiving, and stockroom).
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, tariffs, logistics and systems.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Mil-spec and ATA packaging requirements.
  • Familiar with hazardous material handling, shipping, material handling equipment and office equipment
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience working in a team-oriented environment
