What is a GCA?

GCAs, or Ground Crew Assistants, are aviation professionals responsible for supporting ground operations at airports. Their duties typically include assisting with aircraft marshalling, baggage handling, refueling, catering logistics, and coordinating with flight crews to ensure safe and efficient aircraft turnaround. GCAs play a vital role in maintaining airport safety standards and ensuring that flights depart and arrive on schedule. They often work in shifts and need to be physically fit due to the demanding nature of the job.
