Job description

Job Title: Field Turbine Operator
Location: Midland, TX
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $38/hr plus or minus
Contractor Work Model: Onsite - onsite
Hours: 40.0 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operations of gas turbine packages and related equipment.
  • Monitor control panels, gauges, and other instruments to ensure optimal turbine performance and operational parameters.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the Remote Operations Center for fault-finding support and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate the operational readiness of equipment after shut-down events and assist with the evaluation of readiness of gas turbines and related equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices in power generation operational areas.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and operations by adhering to company standards and policies, conducting work in accordance with safety rules, standard operating procedures, and workplace policies.
  • Maintain daily verification of operational log completion and maintain accurate records of operations and maintenance activities.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts on equipment and interfaces.
  • Understand and apply available software for operational efficiency.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of power generation efficiencies.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of power generation assets and related equipment.
  • Perform external visual checks of equipment, including walk-around inspections.
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of gas turbine operations or electrical experience
  • Experience with Solar SMT turbine packages preferred
  • Able to read electrical and control drawings
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to safely operate and maintain assigned equipment during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days or nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to perform duties safely in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to work closely with others and under time-sensitive deadlines, which may include emergency response situations
  • Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
  • Must be physically able to occasionally lift or move up to 80 pounds
  • Responsive, action oriented
