The essential function of the position you would perform entry-level tasks that support natural gas distribution and service. You would be responsible for assisting in locating and painting meters; basic leak investigation; maintenance tasks; and general labor. We are looking for customer-service oriented candidates with experience working with mechanical and electrical systems.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Assist in installation, maintenance and repairs for natural gas services
  • Work outside in all weather, both above ground and below ground
  • Assist in locating natural gas lines
  • Perform simple sniff tests to determine leaks
  • Maintain records associated with service and repair functions as well as electronic devices
  • Read and interpret meters and gauges to ensure proper function; assist repair or replace as needed; assist in turning gas service on and off
  • Perform landscape maintenance and traffic control tasks
  • Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies
  • Work harmoniously with Inframark employees and the public and comply with company policies

Qualifications
Requires high school diploma, GED and training equivalent to the satisfactory completion of specialized training or relevant experience. Must have a valid state driver's license and meet minimum driving standards.
Knowledge of:
  • Working knowledge of HVAC and plumbing codes, as applied to service and installation of appliances.
  • Working knowledge of electronics and its application to control circuits and systems.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, the installation and service of appliances, venting systems, gas burning equipment and metering and regulating systems.
  • Problem Solving - identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully, developing alternative solutions
  • Taking responsibility for own actions, keeping commitments
  • Committing to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals
  • Consistency in attendance and punctuality

Skill in:
  • Setting and achieving challenging goals
  • Demonstrating persistence and overcoming obstacles
  • Using equipment, materials and electronic devices properly
  • Observing safety and security procedures and in determining appropriate action beyond guidelines

Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors. All required safety standards shall be adhered to in order to mitigate risk from moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, heights, blood-borne pathogens, traffic, animals and wildlife, toxic or caustic chemicals, and other identified hazards.
Physical requirements
This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.
The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required.
The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
