Permanent Role - both day shift and overnight shift available

Job Description

This role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing natural gas compressors and associated equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation in the Permian Basin, including work on systems in locations such as Carlsbad, Artesia, Hobbs, and Pecos, TX.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills specific to compressors and related systems.
  • Experience working with natural gas compressors, pipelines, or similar mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics accurately.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on compressor systems.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and test equipment to identify and resolve equipment problems.
  • Attention to detail and precision in performing installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and field personnel.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to industry safety practices and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, and commission natural gas compressors and related equipment in field locations.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and manuals to ensure accurate and compliant system setup.
  • Perform alignment, calibration, and functional testing of compressor systems to verify proper operation.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on compressors and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and methods.
  • Replace worn or defective parts, lubricate equipment, and adjust system settings to maintain optimal performance.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.
  • Respond promptly to equipment malfunctions, alarms, and emergency situations in the field.
  • Identify root causes of failures and implement effective repairs to restore safe and reliable functionality.
  • Collaborate with team members and other field personnel to coordinate installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures and standards while working at compressor stations and field sites.
  • Travel to various field locations as needed, including remote compressor stations, to perform installation, maintenance, and repair tasks.
  • Participate in rotational on-call duties and respond to after-hours service needs as required.
