Job description

Overview
As a Compressor Mechanic, you will be responsible for the operation, surveillance, and troubleshooting of natural gas engines, compressors, and pumps. This includes validating and inputting production and injection data, performing preventative/predictive maintenance, reactive maintenance, and major and minor repairs on equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and overhauls on gas compressors (e.g., reciprocating, centrifugal, and screw compressors) and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Replace, adjust, and align components such as pistons, valves, bearings, and seals.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, P&IDs, and schematics to guide repairs and installations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs, records, and reports.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, operators, and engineers to address equipment performance issues.
  • Assist in startup and shutdown procedures for compressors and related systems.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications
  • 1+ years of Oil & Gas Compressor Mechanic experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Some college or technical training preferred
  • Valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
  • Must meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug, MVR, agility, and fit for duty.
  • Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Understanding of importance of environmental and safe work practices
