Job Title: Garden Center Merchandiser

Locations: Wareham, MA

Position: Seasonal Hourly non-exempt

Reports to: Merchandiser Regional Manager


Job Description

Merchandisers will use strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain a positive working relationship with store personnel. Merchandise the live goods displays according to the plan-o-gram and ensure the CVP process is utilized properly. Merchandisers will manage the inventory levels and maintenance of the live goods for GMS customers (Vendors) by communicating back to their Field Supervisor or Regional Manager. The Merchandiser will adhere to company policy, including store hours, store policies, and proper utilization of Apps.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships, interact professionally, and maintain effective communication with diverse groups, including store management teams, associates, and GMS Merchandising personnel.
  • Unload racks, build attractive displays on Garden Center tables, according to plan-o-gram.
  • Ensure displayed merchandise is condensed and signed properly.
  • Remove distressed product from display.
  • Keep the display area clean and well-organized.
  • Minimize markdowns and shrink by assisting the store with the CVP process.
  • Merchandise indoor, garden centers, entrances, sidewalk, and parking lot displays.
  • Communicate daily with the manager and follow up on all requests from management in a timely manner.
  • Understand and follow all Grower Merchandising Service standard operating procedures and policies, including work hours and App utilization.
  • Assisting in building and/or putting the tables and galvanized racks together.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to download required apps and utilize them per company policy every workday.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job, which includes: standing for prolonged periods, reaching and bending repeatedly, lifting, and pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Willing to work in all weather conditions.
  • Available to work weekends and Holidays when required.
  • Ability to execute plan-o-grams and signage guidelines.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly.
  • Must be self- motivated, hardworking, energetic, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
