The Opportunity: We have openings for the Supervisor on Duty role at the 4500 Fitness Center! The Supervisor on Duty is responsible for the management of the building operations in absence of the Manager on Duty during their regular shift. The Supervisor on Duty provides excellent customer service to guests by greeting visitors and answering inquiries, processes all fitness related transactions, and supports and coordinates the activities of the Recreation Center.
What you get: This part-time position pays $18 per hour and includes a free fitness membership to 4500 Fitness.
When you'll work: Part-time; variable schedule depending on your availability. Hours for which we need coverage are:
Monday - Friday (4:30am to 10:30am)
Weekends (6:30am-10:30am & 6:30am -12:30pm)
*All shifts may also vary slightly due to personal & facility schedules
Additional hours may be available to substitute as needed
A Day in the Life:
  • Follows building schedule to set-up and take-down equipment
  • Sell and accurately complete fitness transactions such as daily passes, punch passes, personal training session, and fitness memberships
  • Inspects and fitness center and recreation center and performs cleaning of equipment and minor custodial work
  • Answers guest questions in a friendly manner and ensures that members and guests scan at the front desk prior to using the facility

About you:
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to perform physical activities which requires moderate to frequent lifting, standing, balancing, walking, bending, stopping, and handling materials
  • Able to work with computers and systems to set up functions, enter data, and process information
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification is required (Park District will train)
