Graduate Assistant Research (GAR)assistantships require recipients to aid in the research with the department/professor to which they are assigned.Work may also include tasks such as assisting faculty with research, preparing reports, entering data or other responsibilities as assigned.

The duties of a full-time GAR require a maximum of 20 hours of work per week.Minimum GA requirements are:

Full/Conditional Admission to East Texas A&M University master's, specialist or doctoral program

A minimum of six hours of registration

Good academic standing

Successful completion of Responsible Conduct in Research and Scholarship training through CITI.
