Job description

Job Title: Esports Program Instructor / Coach

Location: Varies. Multiple locations across the Atlanta Metro Area

Department: Esports Program

Reports to: Program Director

Position Type: Part Time. After School Hours


Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Esports Instructor and Coach to lead engaging after school esports programming for students. This role focuses on teaching competitive gaming fundamentals, teamwork, strategy, digital content creation, and career exposure within the esports industry. The ideal candidate understands gaming culture, competitive play, and youth development, with the ability to inspire students while fostering both personal growth and team excellence.


Key Responsibilities


Esports Instruction and Curriculum Delivery

• Teach fundamentals of competitive gaming across multiple genres including FPS, MOBA, sports simulation, and battle royale

• Educate students about roles within the esports ecosystem such as players, coaches, analysts, streamers, and event staff

• Develop strategic thinking, decision making, and game awareness


Competitive Skills and Strategy Development

• Provide coaching on mechanics, positioning, communication, and gameplay improvement

• Lead practice sessions, scrimmages, and structured gameplay reviews

• Help students build critical thinking and problem solving skills through gaming scenarios


Team Building and Communication

• Facilitate collaboration, sportsmanship, and positive team culture

• Teach effective communication under competitive pressure

• Help students understand individual roles within team dynamics


Tournament Preparation and Program Activities

• Prepare students for local, regional, or national competitions

• Organize practice schedules, internal competitions, and exhibitions

• Support performance analysis through gameplay review and feedback


Content Creation and Digital Skills

• Introduce streaming basics including setup, best practices, and online safety

• Guide students in content creation for platforms such as Twitch and YouTube

• Teach digital branding, audience engagement, and responsible online presence


Career Exposure and Mentorship

• Introduce career pathways within esports including professional play, broadcasting, coaching, event production, and content creation

• Provide industry insight and mentorship

• Encourage leadership, discipline, and professionalism


Program Development and Innovation

• Stay current on gaming trends, new releases, and esports industry developments

• Collaborate with leadership to enhance curriculum and program offerings

• Help maintain a forward thinking and innovative esports environment


Qualifications


Experience

• Background in esports, gaming, coaching, or related digital media field

• Familiarity with competitive gaming titles, genres, and strategy

• Experience mentoring or working with youth preferred

• Knowledge of streaming platforms, gaming hardware, and content creation tools is a plus


Education

Relevant education in gaming, digital media, education, or related fields is helpful but not required. Demonstrated experience and passion for esports are highly valued.
