Job description

Fanatics Markets is seeking a Data Analyst III to play a critical role in scaling and optimizing our Fanatics Markets - Fanatics' prediction markets business - with a specific focus on the acquisition, activation, and growth of our highest value customers.

This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, sales operations, and customer lifecycle optimization. You will own performance tracking, executive reporting, and deep analytical workstreams that inform and directly influence how we acquire, engage, and reinvest in our most valuable players.

You will build and maintain scalable dashboards in Sigma, write advanced SQL to analyze large datasets, and partner closely with Data Engineering to ensure data integrity and long-term scalability. Your insights will directly influence acquisition strategy, customer segmentation, reinvestment frameworks, and overall program design.

This is not a reporting-only role. You are expected to proactively identify opportunities, pressure-test assumptions, and provide actionable recommendations that drive measurable business outcomes. At times, you will also serve as the operator yourself to drive forward your recommendations, ensuring insights translate into execution and measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Sigma dashboards to visualize high-value customer program performance and key business metrics.
  • Develop SQL queries to extract, analyze, and manipulate large datasets, driving customer engagement insights.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize pipelines and ensure data integrity and scalability.

  • Develop predictive models to optimize customer segmentation, routing, and personalized high-value customer journeys.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve customer relationships, maximize engagement, and enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Automate reporting processes and streamline data workflows for efficiency and scalability.
  • Effectively communicate insights to commercial, marketing, operations, and executive leadership teams to drive strategic initiatives.

Experience & Skills

  • 4 plus years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering.
  • Advanced SQL proficiency, with experience handling large-scale datasets and optimizing queries.
  • Strong expertise in Sigma (or similar platform, e.g. Tableau) for dashboard development, visualization, and performance tracking.
  • Understanding of data engineering best practices, pipeline optimization, and automation.
  • Ability to think strategically and translate data into business insights and revenue-driving recommendations.
  • Experience with customer loyalty programs, engagement analytics, or high-value clientele strategy is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, highly detail-oriented, and strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
