Job description

Job Summary:
Mattel, Inc. is a leading global toy and family entertainment company that creates innovative products and experiences. The Analyst, Mobile Gaming will play a key role in driving insights and recommendations to enhance business growth for upcoming games, focusing on data-driven decision-making and game performance optimization.
Responsibilities:
• Provide best-in-class support and collaborate with the LiveOps team to optimize game performance such as game features, player behavior and economy balancing
• Analyze game performance across all stages of the development lifecycle and post launch, turning game data into actionable insights that drive improvements to retention, engagement and monetization
• Design, run and analyze A/B tests to validate hypotheses for new features, in-game events, or promotions in collaboration with the LiveOps and Design teams
• Build and maintain clear, actionable data visualizations and dashboards to track game KPIs
• Help establish best practices and build publishing standards for telemetry and data analysis
• Drive the execution of all analytics initiatives with precision and attention to detail
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to help implement game telemetry to track game performance
• Write ad-hoc SQL queries to extract and prepare data for dashboard visualization
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4+ Years of experience, preferably in F2P Mobile Gaming or data-driven field
• Proficiency in data visualization using tools like Mixpanel, Tableau to create dashboards powering KPI evaluation at both the detail team level and summary executive level
• Expert SQL proficiency in BigQuery, MySQL and ability to manage complex data sets efficiently
• Solid experience with programming in Python
• Strong foundation in applied statistics, such as A/B testing to validate and inform recommendations
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and derive actionable conclusions
• Experience with experimentation design, execution, analysis in a LiveOps environment
• Understanding of data and how it translates to unique player experiences
• Comprehension of core KPI impact on product performance, especially when it comes to engagement, retention and monetization
• Experience with database schema design
• Ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders of all levels, presenting insights clearly and concisely
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or a related field
