The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for the training and development of employees across multiple areas of the organization. Initiates knowledge transfer and performance improvement through ongoing development of employees. As a Training and Development Specialist this position will leverage their training and instructional design experience and have multiple responsibilities including training delivery, online and classroom training design, and development of training plans for projects and organizational initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support production training initiatives by developing and/or coordinating training materials for multiple areas focusing on employee technical skills and leadership development.
  • Develop both online and instructor led training programs, and materials, for interactive participation in accordance with best practice design.
  • Apply the latest instructional design theories, practice and methods and delivery channels, including but not limited to webinars, web-conferences, videos, simulations, and gamification.
  • Conduct instructor led training programs for new and existing employees focusing primarily on technical development and improved leadership skills.
  • Track training effectiveness for continued improvement and refresher needs.
  • Utilize Learning Management System and other design software to create training courses, initiate enrollment, generate reports, and manage learning plan assignments.
  • Participate on projects to assist with workflow analysis, development of training plans, and execution of training to support implementation.
  • Assist Plant Leaders with the development of training for the positions within their plants.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding current curriculum and training practices based on best practices.
  • Determines and implements instructional methods, utilizing individual training, group instructions, demonstrations, and workshops, selects or develops training aids such as operating guides, visual aids and tutorials.
  • Considers a wide variety of learning mediums and approaches appropriate for adult learners to ensure a productive and successful means of training.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent; or 5+ years of related experience and/or training in the instructional design area. 
  • This position requires proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point as well as the ability to multi-task.
  • Experience with Delivery and Development of training materials required.
  • Travel Requirement of 50%. 

The salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 USD based on experience. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to education, skill set and depth of experience.
