What You'll Do
Epic is looking for a Senior Tech Artist to join our team working on Fortnite Events. A successful candidate should have a deep knowledge in look development, lighting and complex game art. A successful candidate should have a broad knowledge of art creation for games. You should understand modeling, texturing, and animation fundamentals. You should be able to combine geometry, materials, effects, and UE Blueprints to create complex art. You should be able to work with both internal ICs, leads and directors as well as direct vendors to support the more technical aspects of creating art.
In this role, you will
  • Create complex materials for landscape and environments
  • Be responsible for world lighting, sets lighting, clouds, atmospherics, water lookdev
  • Execute on a range of visual styles with emphasis on stylized with a high level of fidelity
  • Work with engineers and artists to optimize content for many platforms
  • Own gameplay and engine features from the TechArt side maintaining the high-quality bar for Fortnite Events
What we're looking for
  • Must have a strong reel/portfolio showing executed game tech art
  • Experienced knowledge of PBR principles and material editors
  • Establish workflows and tools for other artists to utilize when making unique assets
  • Experience using texturing packagers such as Substance Designer
  • High level of proficiency in setting up world environmental lighting
  • Desire and knowledge of how to push Unreal Engine further
  • Desire to work with a team and own features and initiatives from inception to ship
  • Familiarity with the Unreal 5 Engine art pipeline
  • Experience working on multiple platforms
  • Scripting experience Blueprint or other
