Job description

Retail Associate

Wolf Den Gaming

Wolf Den Gaming is looking for a friendly, reliable, and knowledgeable Retail Associate to join our team. We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys the trading card gaming community and can help us provide the welcoming, professional experience we want every customer to have when they walk into The Den.

Responsibilities

  • Greet every customer and create a friendly, welcoming environment.
  • Assist customers with trading card games, products, accessories, and general questions.
  • Have working knowledge of popular TCGs, particularly Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, and other major games carried by the store.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system and accurately handle cash, credit card, and other transactions.
  • Assist with buying, selling, and trading cards according to store policies and procedures.
  • Help keep display cases, shelves, play areas, counters, and other customer-facing areas clean and organized.
  • Stock and merchandise new products as they arrive.
  • Assist customers participating in store events, leagues, tournaments, and casual play.
  • Learn and follow Wolf Den Gaming policies regarding inventory, loss prevention, store credit, cash handling, and customer service.
  • Help maintain the clean, professional appearance of the store throughout every shift.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

The right person for this position should:

  • Have solid knowledge of popular trading card games and the TCG hobby.
  • Be friendly, outgoing, approachable, and welcoming to both experienced players and people completely new to the hobby.
  • Maintain a clean-cut, neat, and professional appearance appropriate for a customer-facing retail environment.
  • Be dependable and take their scheduled shifts seriously.
  • Be punctual. Being on time and ready to work when your shift begins is an essential requirement of this position.
  • Have open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Be comfortable talking with customers and recommending products.
  • Be willing to learn about games or products they may not already know.
  • Be able to work independently while also being a good teammate.
  • Have strong attention to detail, particularly when handling cards, inventory, cash, and store credit.
  • Be able to maintain a positive and professional attitude during busy periods.

Physical Requirements

This is an active retail position. Associates should be comfortable standing for extended periods, stocking merchandise, bending and reaching, and lifting boxes or products weighing up to approximately 40 lbs.

What Matters at Wolf Den Gaming

We want Wolf Den Gaming to be a place where everyone feels comfortable walking through the door—from competitive players who have been playing for decades to parents buying their child's first Pokémon deck.

Our Retail Associates are a major part of creating that experience. We expect our team members to be knowledgeable without being intimidating, helpful without being pushy, and professional while still having fun.

Reliability matters. Attitude matters. Customer service matters.

If you're knowledgeable about TCGs, enjoy helping people, show up when you're scheduled, and want to be part of a growing local gaming community, we'd love to hear from you.

Wolf Den Gaming is an equal opportunity employer.
