Duties * You will direct the program lifecycle for all facility cranes, managing long-range budgeting, strategic equipment acquisitions, and major repair plans. * You will supervise and lead quality assurance specialists and technicians, managing work schedules, performance ratings, and professional development. * You will act as project manager for major crane procurements and system upgrades, overseeing designs, technical drawings, and contractor execution. * You will establish and enforce quality assurance programs, equipment inspection rules, and load testing safety certification protocols. * You will serve as the technical contract representative to monitor contractor performance, enforce compliance, and negotiate contract modifications. * You will lead engineering investigations into mechanical or electrical equipment failures to determine root causes and design lasting solutions. * You will continuously evaluate technology advances in weight handling systems to integrate modern safety, reliability, and maintenance upgrades. * You will represent the organization as the lead technical liaison to external stakeholders, equipment manufacturers, and executive leadership. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
