They coordinate between development, quality assurance, marketing, and publishing teams to manage schedules, resolve issues, and meet deadlines. Job description

Welcome to Warner Bros. Discovery… the stuff dreams are made of.

Who We Are…

When we say, “the stuff dreams are made of,” we’re not just referring to the world of wizards, dragons and superheroes, or even to the wonders of Planet Earth. Behind WBD’s vast portfolio of iconic content and beloved brands, are the storytellers bringing our characters to life, the creators bringing them to your living rooms and the dreamers creating what’s next…

From brilliant creatives, to technology trailblazers, across the globe, WBD offers career defining opportunities, thoughtfully curated benefits, and the tools to explore and grow into your best selves. Here you are supported, here you are celebrated, here you can thrive.

Avalanche is a Warner Bros. Games studio located in downtown Salt Lake City nestled against the backdrop of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains. We’ve been in the video game business since 1995, creating interactive experiences for fans of the world’s largest franchises.Join the team behind the blockbuster open world, action RPG Hogwarts Legacy as we create what’s next!

Avalanche, a division of WB Games Inc., is seeking an Advanced Product Manager to join our team of talented industry veterans working on a new online multiplayer RPG.

Your New Role

We’re looking for an Advanced Product Manager who thrives at the intersection of player empathy and analytical rigor. You’ve shipped games and navigated the intensity of launch and/or found your rhythm in the ongoing discipline of live operations. You know your way around a telemetry pipeline as well as a product roadmap, and you’re able to rally the cross-functional team around a product vision.

Your Role Accountabilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap

  • Partner with other disciplines to craft features across your area from concept through release and into post-launch iteration, owning outcomes at every stage
  • Turn high-level business strategy and player insights into clear, prioritized roadmaps for team collaboration
  • Partner with leadership to define short- and long-term product vision, articulating tradeoffs with confidence and clarity
  • Write sharp, thorough PRDs, feature specs, and briefs that empower the team for clear alignment

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the connective tissue between design, engineering, QA, and data, aligning teams around shared goals without sacrificing speed and vision
  • Lead indirect reports and collaborators toward shared outcomes, exemplifying ownership mindset and setting a high bar for execution
  • Facilitate decisions across stakeholders with competing priorities, building consensus grounded in data and player understanding
  • Communicate progress, risks, and pivots clearly and proactively up to leadership and across the team
  • Own the business outcomes of features in your area

Analytics, Telemetry & Data

  • Design and define telemetry schemas such as instrumentation plans, event taxonomies, and data contracts in close collaboration with engineering and central data teams
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports that surface actionable insights across retention, engagement, monetization, and feature health
  • Define success metrics and KPIs for every feature before it ships and conduct post-mortems to understand feature performance and its impact on game health
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify player behavior patterns, funnel breakdowns, and growth levers
  • Conduct market research to understand current trends, anticipate emerging ones, and ensure the product and team remain competitive
  • Translate product questions into analytics tasks, set clear hypotheses, and interpret results with the rigor and nuance
  • Champion a culture of data-informed decision-making across the team

Live Operations

  • Partner with other disciplines to craft the live ops calendar for your feature area that include seasonal content, in-game events, balance updates, and economy tuning
  • Monitor live service health post-launch, triaging issues rapidly and coordinating a swift, organized cross-functional response
  • Continuously analyze live data to identify retention risks and engagement opportunities, moving quickly to act on them
  • Balance the needs of today\'s players with the long-term health of the game’s economy and community

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience with at least 2 years in a senior or lead PM capacity
  • Shipped or operated a live game
  • You are an active gamer invested in the online RPG and/or cozy genres
  • Deep, hands-on experience designing telemetry systems, defining what to instrument, why it matters, and how it gets implemented
  • Proven ability to build and own dashboards, not just consume them
  • Strong track record of building and maintaining product roadmaps in fast-moving environments ambiguous environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and driving alignment across design, engineering, creatives, and business stakeholders
  • Strong analytical foundation. You\'re comfortable in SQL, fluent with raw data, and skilled at forming hypotheses from ambiguous signals
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, being able to explain the “why” clearly and align diverse teams around a shared product vision

Nice to Haves

  • Experience taking a product from concept all the way through live ops
  • Console game development experience
  • Various monetization and platform-specific constraints
  • Familiarity with player-facing economy design, battle passes, seasonal content systems, in-game currencies
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and experiment design at scale
  • Background working with sophisticated monetization ecosystems, navigating diverse player lifecycles and spending behaviors

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here

  • You talk to players, not just about players
  • You treat your dashboard like a living document, not a reporting obligation
  • You push back when strategy doesn\'t serve the player, and you do it with data
  • You get genuinely excited debating whether a new mechanic will land with your core community
  • You don\'t wait to be told what the problem but, instead, find it, frame it, and walk in with solutions
  • You set a high bar for yourself and the people around you, and exercise growth mindset, not letting your past successes hinder your future growth
  • You\'re committed to inclusion and building a diverse, welcoming team

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
