KCI Technologies is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our building structures team in NYC. This role is ideal for an experienced structural engineer who thrives in a leadership position, managing projects, mentoring teams, and building strong client relationships

You’ll play a key role in delivering and executing a diverse portfolio of building and building-related projects across the country to support active projects the NE Region and beyond while helping shape the continued growth of KCI’s presence in the region.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Project Manager for building structural projects, with full responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Lead structural design efforts for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures, including both new design and existing building work.
  • Execute structural design and analysis for a variety of projects and conduct site visits and field investigations as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including architects and MEP partners.
  • Develop and oversee development of construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Provide technical leadership and QA/QC oversight for calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Provide mentoring, technical development, and general oversight of junior staff, fostering technical growth and team performance.
  • Act as the primary client contact, maintaining and expanding relationships.
  • Support proposal development, scoping, and business development efforts.
  • Lead projects through all phases, including design, bid, and construction administration.
  • Plan workloads and team staffing schedules.

Specialized Experience Required:

  • Strong working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, structural analysis/design software, and building design.
  • Proven experience managing building structural projects from concept through construction.
  • Proven Experience with structural design, field investigations, and client coordination.
  • Experience with client interaction, proposal development, and team leadership.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple concurrent projects
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam/Adobe.
  • Working knowledge of building and design codes.

Specialized Experience Preferred:

  • Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience, including project management responsibility.
  • Interest in mentoring and team development
  • NCEES registration and ability to obtain licensure in other states.
  • Proficient in RISA, RAM, or similar structural design software.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced consulting environment.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budget tracking, forecasting, and resource planning.
  • Ability to balance technical involvement with project management responsibilities.

Education and/or Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and minimum of 3 years of related professional experience, or 7 years of equivalent
    professional experience.
  • Participation in continuing education and professional development programs.
  • Experience in project management roles, with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities to inspire and motivate project teams.
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Technical knowledge in the specific field of the project.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, with the ability to develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and
    documentation.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to project management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Negotiation skills to manage contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements effectively.
  • Understanding of accounting principles to effectively manage project budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.

Education and/or Work Experience Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Risk Training along with passing the PM Board within 6 months of start date.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
