JOB SUMMARY: 

This position is for Ice Operations at the Utah Mammoth practice facility in Sandy, UT. Persons are responsible for maintaining and operating a fast, hard, and smooth ice surface. This position also offers the opportunity to work NHL games at Delta Center. This position is part-time and offers a compensation of $20/hour. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 


Sandy Practice Rink

  • Operate ice re-surfacer in a safe timely manner.
  • Set-up NHL team practices (clear marsh peg holes, set nets).
  • Maintain ice re-surfacers to run smoothly in order to provide best ice sheet possible (blade changes, grease points, circle checks, cleaning out augers).
  • Maintain hockey nets making sure there are no holes and the net is tight.
  • Maintain glass and boards to be clear of puck marks and scratches.
  • Assist in glass change when needed.
  • Set up ice events (youth hockey, figure skating, sled hockey, open skate).
  • Record ice maintenance, ice resurfacer maintenance, circle check, plant hours, depth checks etc. into Sub-Zero application.
  • Assist with building operations when needed.
  • Interact with the public with a good attitude and smile on your face.
  • Report any incident to Assistant Ice Manager and Ice Operations Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Delta Center Game Day

  • Clean Glass, clean Zambonis, assist if needed with depth check readings, clear marsh peg peg holes, and walk nets/set into place  Clean augers/fill Zambonis, move nets during intermission/clean out peg holes while Zambonis are on the ice, check for any abnormalities in ice (deep skate rut marks, missed Zamboni spots on a pass). 
  • Assist Ice Operations Manager with anything needed during the game (glass change, blood spill, net reconstruction, shovel crew) Remove nets from ice and put into storage spot, fill peg holes with snow, clean up Zamboni door area, put tools away, pick up rubber/chairs when going into changeover.
  • Protect the reputation of the company.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) screening in accordance with company policy and insurance requirements.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Previous ice rink experience required, rink certifications encouraged.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience safely operating ice resurfacing equipment, floor scrubber, scissor lift, and forklifts.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 75 lbs.
