LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles' third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. TheAssociate, Games Data, Demand Model, and Code Set, willplay a key role indevelopingLA28'sdata and analysis capabilityas part of the Planning and Programs team.This role willsupportthe development of LA28's Games Demand Model, thesingle sourceof truthcontainingthe latest demand data and assumptions for LA28, ensuring allfunctional areas are planning their operations from the same baseline.
This position will be leading the day-to-dayactivities around the development and maintenance of the Games Demand Model and its components:creation and maintenance of key data sets, support to the data owners and stewards across LA28to maintain data accuracy and completeness, support the ETL (extract, transform and load) processand thedevelopment ofbusiness intelligence insights through various reports and ad-hoc analysis.
The ideal candidate will be proactive,possessstrong communicationabilitiesandhave experience as a data analyst.
This role will report directly into the Games Data and Analysis Directorandwork closely with a variety of data owners and stewards across LA28's functional areas.
KeyResponsibilities
Games Demand Model
Lead the day-to-day maintenance of the Games Demand Model, ensuring that all LA28 functional areas and external partners make use of the latest demand data and assumptions
Create, store,maintain,archiveand dispose of Games Demand Model datasets and code sets in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Support various data owners and stewards within LA28 to ensure data integrity, accuracy and relevance of the datasetsrequiredfor the Games Demand Model. This includes, but is not limited to,venues, schedules, stakeholder population estimates, behavioral assumptions, etc.
Support the development of planning assumptions to help model thedemandforservices by Olympic Games Stakeholders.
Act as data owner for certain key datasets and code sets within LA28
Collaborate closely with the Technology team to develop andmaintainthe overall system and data architecture supporting the Games Demand Model
Support the ETL (extract, transform and load) process necessary for the Games Demand Model in partnership with the Technology team
Develop dashboards,ad-hoc analysesor other communication materialstosupport operational planning and decision-making of LA28 functional areas
Providedata analysis advice to decide on how to best evolve the Games Demand Model and address the priority data needs expressed by the LA28 functional areas
Lead the development and integration of new datasets and planning assumptions within the Games Demand Model
Prepare materials to support the Games Demand Model Governance (e.g.meeting agendas, presentations, minutes)
Data related activities
Contribute tothe definition ofLA28'sGames-timemonitoringandreportingto support the operations of the Main Operations Centre and evaluate planned versus actual usageof key servicesto adjust operations.
Promote theconsistent use of terminology stored in common code sets throughout LA28
Developdata governance policies and procedures asrequired
Support communicationseffortswithinLA28toinformwhen changes to key planning assumptionshave been made
Support the Games-timeoperational data capture efforts
Background and Requirements
Minimum of 3+ years related work experience
ABachelor'sdegree in mathematics, statistics, datascience,computer science,economicsor a related field/equivalent work experience
Proficiencyin data analysis and exposure to data engineering/processing best practices
Strong knowledge of data analysis tools,softwareand programming languages (e.g.Azure Data Factory,SQL, Python, Tableau, Excel)
Statistics literacyand experience in developing forecast models
Expertisein developing andmaintainingcode sets and taxonomies

PhysicalRequirementsand Working Conditions
Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
The majority ofwork will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
The LA28 office is anopen floorplanworking environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in anopen cubicleenvironment.
Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
Perform other duties asrequired; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Expectations
Experience working in Event Planning or large-scale project management is preferred

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,500 - $82,000. The pay scaleprovidedis the range that LA28reasonably expectsto pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensationremainssubject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
