The Florida Panthers enter their 33rd season in 2026-27 as one of the National Hockey League's premier franchises. As back-to-back Stanley Cup champions in 2024 and 2025, the Cats have emerged victorious in 11 of their past 12 postseason series and have captured four Eastern Conference championships. The Panthers are led by President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Bill Zito entering his seventh season, and President of Business Operations Michael White who begins his first full season.
As the NHL's southernmost team, the Panthers operate four facilities in Broward County, Florida: Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise; the Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs; the state-of-the-art Baptist Health IcePlex in Fort Lauderdale; and the renovated War Memorial Auditorium, which hosts concerts and events for the South Florida faithful year-round.

Job Summary
The 2026-27 Seasonal Communications Intern will assist the Communications team in providing quality media relations to local and national media covering the Florida Panthers. This role is responsible for supporting the preparation and dissemination of media documents as well as game day operations including media check-ins, credentialing, and more.
Responsibilities
  • Support game-day media relations tasks, including credentialing, media check-in, document distribution, and statistics and online coverage tracking
  • Assist in press box operations including pre- and postgame setup and distribution of game reports
  • Disseminate game-day stats and information to media, visiting team personnel, and other relevant parties
  • Collect and transcribe postgame interviews
  • Interact with and fulfill on-site media requests
  • Compile and maintain digital tracking of external media clips
  • Written duties may include support on press releases and other written communications
Qualifications
  • Current college student or recent post-graduate preferred, with a focus in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or Digital Media
  • Must be available to work all or most Florida Panthers home games, including games and events scheduled on weekends and holidays; commitment to all or most home postseason games during the 2026-27 season is expected
  • Knowledge of hockey and strong communications skills required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
  • Must demonstrate professional conduct and appropriate attire at all times
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is a plus

Must be able to works flexible hours including nights, weekends and occassional holidays as needed.
