Iconica is seeking a Field Engineer Intern to join our team in Summer 2027!
At Iconica, we take a collaborative approach to design and construction, bringing architecture, engineering, and construction together under one roof. We foster a supportive, team-oriented environment where people can grow professionally while contributing to meaningful projects. As a full-service firm, we prioritize strong relationships, thoughtful solutions, and successful outcomes—for both our clients and our team.
As a Field Engineer Intern, you’ll work alongside Superintendents and Carpenters, gaining practical, hands-on experience in construction management and field operations. You’ll have the opportunity to:
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and project managers to keep tasks on schedule.
  • Gain hands-on experience constructing, installing, and remodeling structures using wood, laminates, and steel with a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Learn the sequence of activities required to construct and assemble a building.
  • Review subcontractor scopes of work, evaluate shop drawings, and manage punch list and warranty items.
  • Support quality control by helping develop punch lists and verifying completed work.
  • Contribute to project schedules and safety initiatives to help ensure project goals and client expectations are met.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with clients and subcontractors.
Qualified candidates will have the following:
  • Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Construction Management program.
  • Previous internship experience in design-build or construction (preferred).
  • Leadership experience in student organizations or extracurriculars.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Initiative, curiosity, and an eagerness to learn.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
