Job description

Job Summary:
QDStaff is North America's leading talent source for award-winning video game companies, and they are seeking a Software Engineer to design and build next-generation automation systems for mobile games. The role involves engineering automation platforms, collaborating with game engineers, and driving technical standards to enhance development workflows.
Responsibilities:
• Engineer (design and code) automation platforms, validation systems, and internal tooling from scratch
• Architect and implement reusable frameworks that integrate directly into CI/CD pipelines and development workflows
• Design and build TypeScript-based automation services and tooling using modern development practices
• Develop AI-assisted validation and performance tooling to support rapid game iteration
• Collaborate closely with game engineers to embed automation and performance instrumentation at the system level
• Drive technical standards and best practices that improve cross-team engineering efficiency
• Contribute to runtime performance monitoring, startup optimization, and data capture systems
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, hardware, browsers, and platforms to strengthen automation capabilities
Qualifications:
Required:
• Engineer (design and code) automation platforms, validation systems, and internal tooling from scratch

• Passion for building scalable tooling that other engineers rely on
• Curiosity for leveraging AI and automation to solve complex engineering problems

• Willing to relocate if not already within commuting distance to work location
• Experienced, confident and proficient at software engineering (TypeScript or C# preferred) and able to pick up programming languages as needed
• An aptitude for quickly adopting and improving new technology and technical frameworks
• A track record of mentorship, direction setting, innovation and leading by example
• Effective influencer within an agile development cell responsible for product quality with the ability to assist with project scheduling.
• Proficient in SQL Scripts and SQL Server Manager.
• Experienced with automation on iOS, Android, Windows and MacOS
• Knowledgeable in performance analysis and performance data capture (start-up and runtime performance).
• History of success working on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work with others in a demanding and fast paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience (automation, tooling, platform, or product engineering)
• Candidates must have 2 or more years of mobile app or cross-platform web application experience.
Preferred:
• Experience with custom application development that uses AI
• Experience designing or evolving automation frameworks using modern TypeScript-based tooling
• Familiarity with browser automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, Cypress, Puppeteer, Playwright, or similar technologies
• Experience with SQL stored procedures, data extraction, and performance data analysis
• Experience designing tools that improve developer workflows or internal processes
• Experience developing or supporting slot games or web-based games
