Game Worker
Department: Spectrum High School Athletics
Reports To: Athletic Director / Game Manager
Employment Type: Part-Time / Seasonal (Per Game Basis)
Position Summary
Spectrum High School is seeking dependable, enthusiastic individuals to serve as Game Workers
for home athletic events. Game Workers play a vital role in creating a safe, organized, and
welcoming environment for athletes, officials, and spectators. This position supports the
success of Spectrum Athletics by assisting with game-day operations and ensuring a positive
experience for our community.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Game Workers may be assigned one or more of the following duties depending on event needs:
? Admissions & Ticketing: Sell and collect tickets, manage spectator entry, handle cash
responsibly, and provide accurate attendance counts.
? Scoreboard & Clock Operations: Operate the scoreboard, play clock, and timing
equipment as directed by the game officials or site manager.
? Scorekeeping & Announcing: Keep official scorebooks or statistics and/or serve as
public address announcer following sportsmanship guidelines.
? Concessions: Prepare, sell, and restock food and beverages; maintain a clean, safe
concession area.
? Crowd & Facility Supervision: Monitor spectator behavior, maintain a positive
atmosphere, and assist with crowd control when necessary.
? Event Setup & Cleanup: Help with setting up fields, courts, and equipment before events
and restoring areas to proper condition afterward.
Qualifications
? Must be responsible, punctual, and able to follow directions.
? Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
? Ability to work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
? Basic knowledge of high school sports and game operations preferred.
? Experience handling money or working in customer service is a plus.
? Must demonstrate professionalism and uphold Spectrum High School's values of
sportsmanship and respect.
Working Conditions
? Work is primarily performed during home athletic events (indoor and outdoor settings).
? May involve standing for extended periods and moderate physical activity.
? Seasonal schedule based on athletic calendar.
Compensation
? Hourly rate: $17.50
? Game Workers are considered temporary, event-based employees.
