Overview

At Risk Placement Services (RPS), we’re one of the largest Specialty Wholesale Insurance Brokerage firms in the U.S., thriving on teamwork, creativity, and responsiveness. As an Underwriter/Broker, you’ll play a key role in fostering revenue growth by delivering efficient underwriting services and connecting retail agents with national markets.

In this role, you’ll prospect for new business, build strong relationships with agents and carriers, and pre-qualify submissions to focus on high-probability opportunities. You’ll also develop expertise in insurance solutions for specific product lines and industry segments, ensuring RPS remains a trusted partner for retail agents.

How you'll make an impact
  • Actively network and build relationships with independent retail agents and carrier underwriters.
  • Analyze submissions to determine the best carrier, coverage, and premium.
  • Stay updated on industry trends to adapt underwriting strategies.
  • Ensure business partners understand RPS’s full range of risk solutions.
About You
  • A Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related work experience.
  • Business development and relationship management skills.
  • A home state P&C license.

Compensation and benefits

We offer a competitive and comprehensive compensation package. The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
