Job Summary

Service, repair, or program the security systems and other related equipment by following the blueprints of building plans and electrical layouts.


Job Duties

  • Test backup batteries, keypad programming, sirens, and all security features in order to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintain or repair security systems, alarm devices, or related equipment
  • Respond to customer service request calls
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose problem and develop solution
  • Prepare and gather supplies and equipment for each day’s work
  • Read and follow blueprints of home or building plans and electrical layouts
  • Communicate with customer to discuss the problem and solution.
  • Conduct inventory of equipment in service truck
  • Drill holes for wiring in the wall studs, ceilings, and floors
  • Pull cables through success holes, cavity walls, and roof spaces to reach outlets
  • Keep service truck organized and clean inside and out
  • Report service truck issues, accidents, tickets, etc.
  • Performs inspections of burglary and fire alarm systems
