Quality Support, Gage Calibration, 2nd Shift
Job Description Summary
Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing and assembly operations in the areas of measurement, calibration, inspection, repair, and gage management. The Calibration Technician is responsible for maintaining measurement traceability, completing scheduled and unscheduled calibrations, supporting measurement system analysis activities, troubleshooting measurement-related issues, and maintaining accurate records within the gage management system.
Job Description:
  • Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform calibration, verification, adjustment, troubleshooting, and minor repair of dimensional, mechanical, torque, electrical, pressure, temperature, mass/scales, and other measurement equipment within demonstrated competency.
  • Complete calibrations in accordance with approved procedures, manufacturer specifications, applicable standards/masters, and established acceptance criteria.
  • Troubleshoot & problem solve gage measurement issues. Resolve gage and measurement-system issues affecting manufacturing and assembly operations.
  • Learn and support assembly-line measuring station operation and adjustment, including nut runners, press stations, scales, and other inline measurement systems.
  • Maintain all required repair and calibration records (Gage Management System)
  • Receive and inspect repaired gages from outside sources.
  • Assist manufacturing and assembly associates with gage set-up.
  • Participate in MSA studies (Gage R & R, SPC).
  • Maintain standard/master gage calibration equipment.
  • Assist in the training of assembly and manufacturing associates in proper use and maintenance of gages.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Calibration Leader within the scope of the position.
  • Update and maintain the gage management system.
  • Complete gage audits.
  • Responsible for communicating when there is an issue affecting the Environment, Health, Safety or Quality to his / her respective Manager

Required Skills and Education
6 months - 1 year of Automotive manufacturing experience. Two-year technical training in calibration, metrology, gage repair, precision measurement, quality inspection, or a related technical field is preferred. Associates Degree in a technical field is preferred. Familiarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 & ISO 17025 certifications.
