Job Title

Consulting Senior Associate, Wildlife Biologist (Fixed‑Term, Full‑Time) — Fixed‑term through August31,2027, based in Vancouver, Smithers, Calgary, or Saskatoon, Canada. Early‑career wildlife biologist role that supports ERM’s Capital Project Delivery Team on mining and energy projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with wildlife field programs across Western and Northern Canada (birds, amphibians, large mammals).
  • Contribute to wildlife assessments for Environmental Impact Statements and management plans under project team direction.
  • Conduct literature reviews and identify recommendations for wildlife mitigations.
  • Support technical data reporting and compliance reporting.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients, Indigenous assistants, and ERM colleagues worldwide.
Qualifications
  • Required B.Sc. or Technical/College diploma in Biological Sciences or related field.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in wildlife biology, environmental consulting or related sectors (government, mining, energy).
  • Previous experience participating in wildlife field surveys.
  • Some knowledge of federal, provincial, and territorial environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build meaningful relationships with team members and clients.
  • Willingness to ask questions and learn from senior members of the project teams.
  • Eligibility for professional registration (e.g., R.P.Bio., P.Biol., or equivalent).
  • Valid driver’s license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle; frequent travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.Sc. in Biological Sciences or related discipline.
  • 1+ years of consulting experience.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining autonomous recording units (ARUs) and/or wildlife trail cameras.
  • Experience using Field Maps, Survey 123, and handheld GPS units.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory regulations in British Columbia, Nunavut, and/or Northwest Territories.
Additional Details

Pay: $68,770–$85,820 CAD per annum (dependent on education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs). Bonus pay is possible but not guaranteed for casual or fixed‑term/flex‑force employees.

Benefits: Paid time off, parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other applicable benefits to eligible employees.
