What does a funnel designer do?

A funnel designer creates and optimizes sales funnels to guide potential customers through the buying process. They use tools like landing pages, email sequences, and analytics to improve conversion rates and user experience, often working with marketing and design teams.

What is the highest paid design job?

In the field of funnel design, senior roles such as Lead Funnel Designer or UX/UI Director tend to have the highest salaries, often exceeding six figures, especially with extensive experience and advanced skills in tools like Figma or Adobe XD. High-level design positions in digital marketing agencies or tech companies typically offer the highest compensation for experienced professionals.

What are some common challenges faced by funnel designers and how can they be addressed?

Funnel designers often face challenges such as aligning marketing strategies with user experience, optimizing conversion rates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams like sales and development. Navigating frequent changes in campaign goals or target audiences can also add complexity. To address these challenges, it's essential to maintain clear communication with stakeholders, regularly analyze funnel metrics, and stay updated on best practices in user journey mapping and A/B testing. Leveraging collaboration tools and feedback loops can help ensure the funnel design remains effective and meets business objectives.

What is funnel design?

Funnel design refers to the process of creating a strategic path that guides potential customers through various stages, from initial awareness to making a purchase or taking a desired action. This involves designing and optimizing landing pages, email sequences, and calls to action to maximize conversions and user engagement. Effective funnel design helps businesses streamline their marketing and sales processes, identify areas for improvement, and increase revenue by nurturing leads more efficiently.

How to start as a funnel designer?

To start as a funnel designer, gain skills in marketing, copywriting, and design tools like Figma or Sketch. Develop an understanding of sales processes and user experience, and build a portfolio of funnel projects to showcase your work. Certifications in digital marketing or funnel building can also enhance your credibility and job prospects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Funnel Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Funnel Designer, you need a solid understanding of digital marketing, conversion optimization, and user experience principles, typically supported by experience in sales funnels and marketing strategies. Familiarity with funnel-building platforms like ClickFunnels, Leadpages, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics is essential. Strong communication, creativity, and analytical thinking help you craft compelling user journeys and collaborate effectively with teams. These skills ensure that funnels are both technically sound and strategically designed to maximize conversions and achieve business goals.

What is the difference between Funnel Design vs Web Design?

Is funnel design in demand?

Job description

Job Summary:

Phoenix Energy One, LLC is seeking a multifaceted Growth Marketer/Content Marketing Lead to own content marketing as a discipline and turn it into a measurable revenue channel. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong writing, sharp analytical thinking, funnel-building experience, and practical comfort with AI-enabled workflows. You will create content that performs through search, LLM discovery, email, and landing pages, and sales enablement for a sales-driven team of 20 professionals. The right candidate is an expert in organic growth, lead generation, conversion, and nurturing sequences, and understands how to build scalable systems that attract qualified prospects, move them through a funnel, and produce measurable business outcomes.

ย

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and publish high-performing content across blogs, email, landing pages, and social channels that attract qualified organic traffic and support LLM discovery and citation.
  • Build and optimize lead generation and nurturing sequences in ActiveCampaign, including segmentation, behavioral triggers, and multi-step drip campaigns tailored to B2C, high-ticket buyer journeys.
  • Create and maintain sales enablement materials โ€” including one-pagers, case studies, email templates, and objection-handling guides โ€” that equip the 20-person sales team to close more effectively.
  • Design and manage conversion-optimized landing pages in WordPress, with a focus on A/B testing, CRO best practices, and measurable lead capture outcomes.
  • Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis using SEMrush to inform SEO strategy, content prioritization, and gap identification against key competitors.
  • Leverage AI-enabled workflows (Claude, OpenClaw, and LLM monitoring tools) to accelerate content production and distribution, while maintaining quality standards and brand voice.
  • Build and maintain automation workflows using Zapier/Make and Clay to streamline lead enrichment, segmentation, and handoff between marketing and sales.
  • Track and report on content performance using GA4 and Excel, attributing content efforts to pipeline metrics and delivering regular insights to leadership on traffic, conversion, and revenue impact.
  • Coordinate project planning and cross-functional communication through Slack and Notion, maintaining transparency on campaign status, deliverables, and deadlines.

ย

Skills:

  • Content strategy, SEO, and organic growth โ€” with hands-on proficiency in SEMrush for keyword research, competitive analysis, and rank tracking.
  • Email marketing and marketing automation via ActiveCampaign, including nurture sequences, segmentation, and behavioral triggers for high-ticket B2C sales cycles.
  • Funnel design, conversion rate optimization, and landing page development in WordPress with a demonstrable track record of improving lead capture and qualification rates.
  • AI-enabled workflow proficiency, including Claude, OpenClaw, and LLM monitoring tools, with the ability to integrate AI intelligently while maintaining editorial judgment and brand standards.
  • Marketing automation and lead enrichment using Zapier/Make and Clay, including workflow design, data mapping, and integration with CRM and outreach tools.
  • Strong copywriting skills across all formats โ€” long-form editorial, short-form social, email subject lines, ad copy, and sales enablement materials.
  • Data analysis and performance reporting in GA4 and Excel, with the ability to build attribution models connecting content output to revenue outcomes.
  • Visual content creation and design in Canva for social media assets, landing page graphics, and sales collateral.

ย

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success owning content marketing as a growth channel, with measurable outcomes in organic traffic, lead generation, and pipeline contribution.
  • Experience in B2C and high-ticket sales environments; understanding of long consideration cycles and the role content plays in building trust and accelerating decisions.
  • Hands-on proficiency with ActiveCampaign, SEMrush, GA4, WordPress, Canva, Zapier/Make, Clay, Claude, OpenClaw, LLM monitoring tools, Excel, Slack, and Notion.
  • Ability to think analytically about funnel performance and deconstruct conversion flows without relying on AI tools โ€” a hiring exercise requirement to verify mastery of fundamentals.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce compelling content independently and on a scale, without over-reliance on AI generation for core strategy or messaging.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple content streams, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Personal characteristics include integrity, accountability, curiosity, resilience, and a genuine bias toward action and measurable outcomes.

ย

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; or equivalent demonstrated work experience in a growth marketing or content marketing role.
