Managing Partner - Funeral Home Manager

The Managing Partner is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of the funeral home. You will lead a high-performing team, oversee all aspects of funeral home operations, and ensure every family receives personalized, seamless, and memorable services. This role oversees daily operations, financial performance, staff development, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of exceptional service to every family entrusted to our care.

The ideal candidate is a servant leader who inspires others, foster new relationships within the community, builds a positive culture, and ensures every detail reflects the highest standards of professionalism and compassion.

Compensation: $100,000 - $140,00 annually, plus performance incentives and bonus opportunities

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Funeral Directors, Embalmers, Funeral Assistants, and support staff.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and exceptional service.

  • Recruit, coach, evaluate, and retain top talent.

  • Create staff schedules that ensure operational excellence and outstanding family care.

Family Experience

  • Meet with families to guide them through funeral, cremation, and memorial planning with empathy and professionalism.

  • Clearly explain service options, merchandise, pricing, and available personalization opportunities.

  • Ensure every family receives personalized attention and a consistently exceptional experience.

  • Resolve concerns with compassion while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of funeral home operations.

  • Coordinate with cemeteries, clergy, celebrants, musicians, florists, crematories, and other service partners.

  • Ensure all services are executed with precision, dignity, and attention to detail.

  • Maintain the facility, vehicles, equipment, and preparation areas to the highest standards.

Compliance & Administration

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing funeral service.

  • Oversee the preparation and timely completion of death certificates, permits, obituaries, contracts, and all required documentation.

  • Maintain accurate records while protecting confidentiality and regulatory compliance.

Financial & Business Leadership

  • Manage the funeral home's financial performance, including budgeting, expense management, and revenue growth.

  • Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities for operational improvement.

  • Support business development and community outreach initiatives that strengthen relationships and grow market presence.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in accordance with state requirements.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive funeral service experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.

  • Associate degree or higher in Mortuary Science or an equivalent accredited program.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach employees, and cultivate a positive workplace culture.

  • Strong understanding of funeral service laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Proficiency with funeral home management software and Microsoft Office applications.
