Job description

Senior Design Manager — Drive Factory Infrastructure at Record Speed

McCarran, NV (Tahoe Reno Industrial Center) | Full-Time | $130,000 – $170,000

The Opportunity

Some people manage projects. You'll manage the projects that build the factory. Our client — a rapidly scaling clean energy manufacturer — needs a Senior Design Manager to own design and engineering for construction and infrastructure development, from first concept through production. You'll be the connective tissue between Process Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Production — turning scattered requirements into clear scope, complete documentation, and buildings that go up on aggressive schedules.

Why You'll Love It

  • Speed and scale: Industrial infrastructure and tool install projects moving at record pace
  • True ownership: From feasibility and funding through 30/60/90/IFC design and construction support
  • Cross-functional influence: Pull teams together across the entire site to make things happen
  • Nevada advantage: No state income tax, Reno-Tahoe living

What You'll Do

  • Translate stakeholder requirements into clear project objectives; distill, document, and manage scope in a fast-moving environment
  • Lead infrastructure and tool install projects through conceptualization, feasibility, funding, design (30%/60%/90%/IFC), change management, and engineering services during construction
  • Manage permitting and construction documents, transmittals, and RFIs
  • Own the project funding request process for major infrastructure improvements
  • Coordinate schedule requirements with procurement and construction partners
  • Identify resource gaps and constraints; influence teams outside your reporting line
  • Define delivery strategies — design-bid-build, integrated project delivery, fast-track
  • Apply lean construction principles and fully integrated BIM design
  • Lead feasibility studies, value engineering, and options analysis

What You'll Bring

  • BS in Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
  • PE or RA license preferred
  • 5+ years managing multi-disciplinary scopes at A/E or design engineering firms
  • Experience designing manufacturing facilities and site infrastructure, including tool install
  • Working command of all engineering disciplines and the ability to manage engineering resources
  • Experience navigating codes and jurisdictions, with strong external partner relationships
  • Advanced project/program management skills applied to complex engineering problems
  • A can-do mindset that thrives under pressure and in ambiguity

Build the factories that build the future. Apply now.
