Job description

Position Overview

The Tooele County School District is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-Time Office Assistant to support Counseling and Mental Health Services. This time-card position is funded through a state or federal grant for the 2026-2027 school year (SY27) and is contingent upon the continuation of external grant funding ("soft-funded"). The Office Assistant will provide vital administrative and program support, particularly related to mental health initiatives and grant management, working under the direction of the Counseling and Mental Health Services Director.

Position Details

  • Position Type: Part-Time, Time-Card Employee
  • Reports To: Counseling and Mental Health Services Director
  • Location: TCSD Student Services Building and other district locations as needed

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee MOUs/contracts with contracted mental health therapists
  • Process mental health grant referrals
  • Coordinate conference registrations and membership renewals for school counselors
  • Assist in the planning and execution of professional development meetings
  • Submit grant accountability reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain records and ensure proper documentation of program activities
  • Perform data entry and assist with data tracking and reporting
  • Complete other duties as assigned to support Counseling and Mental Health Services

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of school-based mental health practices and services
  • Understanding of culturally sustaining practices and sensitivity to generational trauma
  • Data proficiency: Familiarity with data information systems, data analysis, action plan formulation, and record-keeping
  • Communication: Ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of stakeholders (students, parents, staff, community partners)
  • Organizational skills: Able to organize, track, and report data regarding services provided
  • Regulatory knowledge: Understanding and application of federal and state laws (including FERPA) regarding education and student privacy
  • Crisis response: Knowledge of crisis response interventions and best practices
  • Professional relationships: Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationships
  • Adaptability: Willingness to comply with, adapt to, and support new legislation or district requirements
  • Ethical standards: Commitment to upholding professional ethical standards and state statutes regarding student privacy and mandatory reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (required)
  • Experience managing budgets (required)
  • Experience with grant management (required)
  • Experience in a mental health-related profession (preferred)

Contract Information
