Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Working in a team environment, you will be responsible for program administration, supervision and staff development within the Counseling Services Department.  You will assist with the day to day design, implementation, management and evaluation of specialized behavioral health programs.  

DUTIES:

1. Works with Program Manager to operate agency’s school-based services, including but not limited to the oversight of agency’s mental health clinicians.

2. Develops and maintains close working relationships with community agencies.

3. Reviews clinical documentation per insurance billing requirements.

4. Acts as administrative point person for agency’s clinical supervisors to share information and troubleshoot as needed.

5. Participates as a member of the agency’s behavioral health leadership team and supports overarching department goals, objectives and contract requirements.

6. Participates in internal and external program and team meetings as assigned by Manager. Collaborates with community agencies regarding program services.

7. Conducts follow-up and evaluation meetings with community agencies.

8. Collect and review data for performance and evaluation purposes

9. Compiles statistics required by agency, contracts and grants.

10. Assist in preparation of written reports and data summaries.

11. Develop program related trainings and materials.

12. Maintain records and complete all necessary paperwork.

13. Perform assigned duties with a positive attitude and in the spirit of teamwork and cooperation.

14. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Completed Master’s degree in Counseling/ Psychology or Social Work.

2. Has licensure through California BBS or in progress.

3. One to three years of supervision/management experience.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

5. Ability to think creatively and organize workflow.

6. Ability to establish priorities and timelines and to meet them.

7. Experience and ability to motivate and supervise staff.

8. Having a working knowledge of learning styles and awareness of cultural diversity issues.

9. Ability to handle crisis situations and decide appropriate course of action.

10. Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and positive manner with youth, parent and agency representatives.

11. Working knowledge of community resources.

12. Ability to work with a variety of people and situations.

13. Pass agency paid criminal justice screening.

14. Pass agency paid TB (Tuberculosis) screening.

15. Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing, if required.

16. Valid CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

17. Pass agency paid MVR clearance with no more than 2 points – if you are under the age of 25 our insurance will not allow any points.

6. Participate in assigned scheduled agency meetings, in-service trainings, conferences and other trainings as determined by the supervisor. This includes serving as an agency representative at assigned community meetings.

7. Observance of assigned working hours and program appointments by demonstrating promptness and thorough preparation.

8. Perform assigned duties with a positive attitude and in the spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation.

9. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

10. Perform job duties in a manner that ensures a safe working environment for all.

11. Participates in and/or support agency fund development activities and events.

12. Preparation of assigned reports, work records, statistical data, job performance evaluations, work plans, etc. in a timely manner.
