Job description

Join Mizuho as a Central Project Manager!

The Central Project Manager supports enterprise infrastructure initiatives by providing governance, coordination, and portfolio-level project management services across multiple infrastructure towers. This role focuses on project intake, initiation, dependency management, risk oversight, and standardized reporting rather than day-to-day task execution. The position operates within the Infrastructure PMO and ensures projects align with established governance, documentation, and delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Intake, Initiation & Planning

  • Partner with infrastructure tower leads, project sponsors, and technical owners to support project intake, qualification, and tiering
  • Lead or contribute to the development of standardized initiation artifacts, including project charters, business requirements (where applicable), high-level scope definitions, ROM cost estimates, and initial risk assessments
  • Ensure projects meet defined readiness criteria prior to execution, including required documentation, stakeholder alignment, and funding/resource visibility

Risk, Issue & Change Management Oversight

  • Maintain visibility of project-level risks, issues, and dependencies, contributing to infrastructure-wide RAID and change logs
  • Support project change assessments by coordinating impact analysis on scope, schedule, cost, and risk, and facilitating required governance approvals

Status, Reporting & Communication

  • Produce standardized weekly and monthly project and portfolio reporting using approved templates and designated systems of record
  • Present consolidated views of project health, schedule variance, budget posture, and execution risks for leadership consumption. Incorporate stakeholder and leadership feedback into ongoing reporting and project oversight

PMO Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to the development and adoption of Infrastructure PMO standards, templates, and best practices
  • Reinforce compliance with Project Management & Governance policies, processes, and audit requirements

Required Skills:

Functional: Project & Portfolio Governance, Project Initiation & Planning, Risk, Issue, Change Management, PMO Standards & Compliance, Reporting & Transparency

Professional: Executive Communication, Structured Thinking & Judgement, Stakeholder Management, Accountability & Discipline

The expected base salary ranges from $81k-$120k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
