Projects include data centers, semiconductor and EV battery manufacturers, universities, health care facilities, and district energy systems.
Position Overview: The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading large-scale, complex, and high-visibility projects from initial planning through final completion and financial closeout. This role serves as a senior operational leader within the organization and is responsible for driving project execution, financial performance, customer satisfaction, resource planning, and operational excellence across multiple concurrent projects. The Senior Project Manager will play a critical role in mentoring project teams, improving project management processes, supporting organizational scalability, and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage multiple complex projects while aligning execution with operational and financial goals.
• Maintain accountability for project budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial performance.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
• Oversee scheduling, labor planning, procurement, equipment allocation, and material management.
• Identify and mitigate operational, financial, and project execution risks.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability, quality, and operational excellence.
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Commercial, Safety, and Finance teams.
• Conduct structured weekly one-on-ones with each PM, documenting coaching, commitments, and individual growth plans to support ongoing development.
• Mentor and develop junior PMs and future leaders while proactively communicating portfolio updates, risks, and escalations to ensure alignment and visibility.
• Ensure compliance with PurgeRite safety standards, customer requirements, and company policies.
• Utilize ERP and project management systems, including NetSuite and MS Project, to manage project execution and reporting.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7+ years of project management experience within industrial services, mechanical construction, heavy industrial manufacturing, or related industries.
• 1-2+ years of experience leading a team of direct reports, with demonstrated ability to manage workloads, provide guidance, and support employee performance and development in a structured environment.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, high-complexity projects with significant financial and operational responsibility, including oversight of multi-phase delivery, cross-functional stakeholders, and competing priorities to ensure successful execution and outcomes.
• Strong understanding of project financials, budgeting, forecasting, and cost management principles, with the ability to monitor project performance, analyze variances, and support accurate forecasting and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring project personnel.
• Strong communication, organizational, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software platforms.
• Ability to travel up to 30% as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
• Experience managing projects within data centers, semiconductor facilities, healthcare, district energy, or mission-critical environments.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP/project management systems preferred.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence certifications are a plus.
• Technical knowledge of hydronic systems, mechanical systems, and fluid management processes preferred.
• Experience supporting operational scaling initiatives and multi-project resource planning.
