Position Summary
This role is responsible for leading cross-functional engineering projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring results are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. The Project Manager owns all project deliverables, drives schedules, manages risks, and ensures clear communication across engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams. This position plays a critical role in coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation, and presenting status updates to leadership while continuously improving project execution through Lean and quality principles.
Position Scope:
Coordinate and manage a project through completion in the project lifecycle. Responsible to direct and follow stated processes for tactical activities related to planning, execution, and delivery of desired results to commercialize a product for an approved Engineering project initiative.
Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all project deliverables and making sound and timely decisions. Responsible to maintain timelines, schedule updates and scope changes, identify, manage, and resolve risks early in the process, adhere to policies, procedures, and standard work processes. All projects must be reviewed and updated daily, at a minimum once a week.
  • In conjunction with core team members, utilize a team approach to develop project schedules, assign tasks and estimated effort within the required company program management tools. Clearly communicate to each key stakeholder their roles and responsibility to monitor and support the progress of the program against the project plan.
  • Assist Product Management to complete the project charter outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing per the roles and responsibility guidelines in VPG-001.
  • Responsible to schedule and lead effective cross-functional project team meetings. Utilize the project scheduling tool as the basis for project review. Record meeting minutes and update project tasks accordingly. Maintain orderly documentation, files, and records per established procedures and policies.
  • Prepare and present overall project status to management and/or the Product Development Council (PDC) as required. This includes, but is not limited to, tracking the project against the schedule to meet deadlines, measure and track deficiencies that prevent on time completion of major milestones, schedule improvements, etc.
  • Schedule, conduct, and complete a post-project evaluation (Lessons Learned) to document how well results were achieved, roadblocks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Utilizes the Quality Improvement Process and Lean principles to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Identify improvements or deficiencies. Collaborate to develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred.
  • Project Management Certification or degree (e.g., PMP or equivalent) highly desirable.
  • Minimum two years' experience managing $100K+ projects using MS Project (or equivalent) for program/resource tracking (variance reports).
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and BOM's. Experience in MRP/ERP Systems.
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills. Detail oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Reacts to change as a positive challenge and translates into opportunities.
  • Demonstrated competency in creating presentations and ability to confidently present and interact with all levels of the organization. Have strong oral and written communication along with interpersonal skills maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams attaining cross-functional consensus.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (Microsoft Office, Project Management software, etc)
  • Willing to be flexible in schedule and travel to ensure customer value is obtained by evaluating product performance in the field.
