We are looking for you to join our team as a Digital Engineering Manager 2 based out of Linthicum, MD.

What You'll Get to Do

This position is for a Functional Manager of the Digital Hardware team supporting the Mission Systems Sector, in the Hardware department in Baltimore, MD. The manager will have approximately 12 digital hardware engineers on his/her team. Duties will include managing the day-to-day workload of the team, interfacing with the program teams to help meet schedule, performance reviews, work load forecasting, interfacing with external partners. This is a dual role manager position, involving technical responsibilities as well.

The manager is also responsible for staffing plans, staff performance evaluation, goal planning, process improvement, roadmap development, and hiring to manage workload demand and skill attrition. The manager will be able to lead through positive changes, as a champion for improvement and innovation. Employee engagement and development will be maintained through a combination of training, employee career coaching, mentoring, identification of stretch assignments, and engagement action planning. The manager will be able to meet performance goals with consideration for work/life balance of the staff. The candidate should have strong communications skills, and an ability to build and maintain relationships with direct staff, customers, and cross organization partners.

This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain an active U.S Government Secret Clearance or the successful transfer of an active US. Government Secret Clearance prior to start.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience, master's degree with 6 years of experience, Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S Government Secret Clearance prior to starting.

  • A current/active clearance is not required to be considered for the position, but a final clearance is required to start

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in digital and/or hardware design

  • 3 years of experience with people management, leading a technical design team, including workload management, performance reviews, and employee development/coaching.

  • 3 years of experience leading a high performing team (technical, Integrated Product Team Lead, Agile, or functional management)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current/active U.S Government Secret clearance

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics

  • Expertise with digital hardware design processes

  • Experience leading process improvement, or introduction of new tools projects

  • Experience supporting or leading proposals

  • Experience with signal integrity and/or power integrity modeling and simulation

Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
