Job description


Vertiv is hiring a Continuous Improvement Manager in Georgetown, TX. In partnership with the Plant Manager, responsible for the successful planning, development, and execution of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs for Vertiv operations in the plant, including the deployment of the Vertiv Operating System (VOS). Provide oversight on all continuous improvement projects and the standardization of manufacturing processes within the plant and functional departments.
Play an active role within plants and internalizing the best practices in the region.
Under the direction of the Global and Regional Vertiv Operating System leader, this Manager will work as a:
  • Partner and consult with plant managers and their leadership teams to shape plant strategy, develop plans and execute performance improvement initiatives.
  • Develop Lean capabilities of management and employees, to create sustainable models to drive daily problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage imbedded site resources to leverage expertise
  • Lead and coach leaders to integrate operations and functions end to end and drive improvement to reduce lead time, improve customer service levels, and lower total operating costs and increase cash flow.
  • Develop the capabilities of the continuous improvement team and lead the continuous improvement of Vertiv Operating standards, processes and methods.
  • Have a shared responsibility for both process improvement as well as operational performance with plant/functional manager.

Responsibilities
  • Consults and give feedback on the daily activities of VOS coordinators, and their support staff.
  • Ensure alignment and adherence to the VOS specs and framework Ensures employees. operate within VOS guidelines.
  • Lead the VOS steering committee.
  • Accountable for the administration and execution of policies and procedures.
  • Decisions have a direct impact on plant operations and customers.
  • Frequently interacts with subordinates, customers and peer groups at various management levels.
  • Interactions normally involve information exchange and basic problem resolution.
  • Ability to lead change initiatives and drive process excellence
  • Leads/Accountable for facility VOS communications, education and trainings
  • Leads site analysis including baseline of operations and financial analysis and continuous measurement and improvement.
  • Partner with the regional VOS leader to develop and deploy VOS strategy
  • Accountable to the rhythm and rigor
  • Right hand to Plant Manager
  • Work with plant manager and Kaizen team leader to define/set appropriate target for improvement and measure progress to targets.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of 5 plus years' experience
  • Six Sigma / Lean certifications, preferred

Requirements
  • Ability to coach, teach and lead leaders to develop continuous improvement strategies, influence decision making, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the plant operations and functions.
  • 3 - 5 years or more of hands-on experience in the application of Lean/Six Sigma methods and way of thinking.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, project management and inter-personal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in local language and English
  • Strong analytical skills, including the use of statistical modeling techniques, root cause analysis and other tools and methods typically deployed to drive operational improvements
  • Strong experience in applying and coaching change management, behavior coaching and performance management methods.
  • Ability to influence and lead in a matrix organization to drive accountably and execution of VOS mindset and activities
  • Previous experience leading teams through change management
