The Technical Business Systems Analyst - Factory Systems will support Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams by developing, maintaining, and improving factory systems, reporting solutions, and system integrations.

This role requires strong hands-on technical skills in Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, C#, .NET, reporting tools, and manufacturing systems. The analyst will work closely with business users to understand requirements, develop reports and dashboards, troubleshoot system issues, support data integration between factory systems and ERP, and help improve manufacturing data visibility.

The ideal candidate has experience supporting manufacturing or factory applications such as MES, MOM, ERP, WIP, BOM, inventory, quality, production reporting, and shop-floor systems.

What You'll Be Doing

Business Systems Support

  • Work with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain users to gather and document business and reporting requirements.
  • Support factory systems used for production execution, WIP tracking, inventory, quality, and traceability.
  • Analyze system issues, data discrepancies, and process gaps.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for reports, queries, interfaces, and system enhancements.
  • Provide day-to-day support for manufacturing applications and related databases.

Reporting, Analytics & Data Development

  • Develop, modify, and maintain operational reports using SQL, MS SQL Server, SSRS, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.
  • Create reports for production status, WIP, yield, cycle time, quality, inventory, material usage, and traceability.
  • Develop and support dashboards for factory performance, operational KPIs, and management reporting.
  • Validate report accuracy by working with business users and comparing data across systems.
  • Support automation of manual reporting and data extraction processes.

Application Development & Technical Support

  • Develop and maintain small to mid-size applications, utilities, scripts, or enhancements using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, APIs, and SQL Server.
  • Support integration between factory systems, ERP, and reporting platforms.
  • Troubleshoot application, database, and interface issues.
  • Work with internal IT teams and vendors to resolve system defects and performance issues.
  • Assist with testing, deployment, and documentation of application changes.

Factory Systems & ERP Integration

  • Support integration between factory applications and ERP systems such as Oracle EBS or similar platforms.
  • Assist with data flows related to:
    • Production orders
    • Work-in-process transactions
    • BOM and routing data
    • Inventory and material movements
    • Quality results
    • Traceability data
    • Shop-floor reporting
  • Monitor and troubleshoot interface errors between MES, ERP, and reporting systems.
  • Support data reconciliation between factory systems and ERP.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, and system efficiency.
  • Document business processes, system workflows, technical specifications, and support procedures.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, and testing activities.
  • Support change control and release management for factory system changes.
  • Train users on reports, dashboards, and system functionality.

What We're Looking For

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field

Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, Report Developer, Application Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong SQL development skills,
  • Experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, or related Microsoft development technologies.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, factory, ERP, MES, or shop-floor systems.
  • Ability to gather requirements from business users and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, databases, reports, and interfaces.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing data flows such as production orders, WIP, BOM, inventory, quality, and traceability.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens Opcenter, MES, MOM, Oracle EBS, or other manufacturing systems.
  • Experience in semiconductor, optics, electronis, medical device, or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Experience with ERP manufacturing modules such as:
    • BOM
    • WIP
    • Inventory
    • Quality
    • Costing
    • Purchasing
  • Experience with APIs, web services, ETL tools, or middleware.
  • Experience with Power BI data modeling and dashboard development.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing KPIs such as yield, cycle time, OEE, scrap, rework, and throughput.
  • Familiarity with SOX, ISO, or regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with system testing, UAT, and production support.

Technical Skills

  • Languages: C#, .NET, ASP.NET, SQL, T-SQL
  • Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database preferred
  • Reporting Tools: SSRS, Power BI, Crystal Reports, Tableau, or similar
  • Applications: MES, ERP, WIP, BOM, Inventory, Quality, Manufacturing Systems
  • Integration: APIs, web services, ETL, file-based interfaces, database interfaces
  • Tools: Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Azure DevOps or similar ticketing/version control tools
