Position Description:

Designs software development using object-oriented programming languages (Java). Builds REST based micro services using Java and Spring Boot. Works with unit and integration test automation, using Junit and Mockito. Develops Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other Cloud platforms, and container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes). Develops resilient messaging services (Kafka, AWS Simple Notification Service (SNS), and AWS Simple Queue Service (SQS)). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), using Spring Boot and .NETCORE.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and implementing REST Application Programming Interfaces APIs, using Spring Boot and .NETCORE.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") designing and developing financial services applications; performing information technology (IT) product development in an AWS environment, using Java, Spring Boot framework, API development, Kafka, Swagger, Apache Tomcat, SQL, and Java Database Interface (JDBI); and deploying applications and databases through established Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, using GitHub, ECS, Liquibase, Kubernetes, and Docker.
  • DE diagnosing and correcting issues for distributed financial services -- evaluating customer impact and the appropriate steps required for resolution, using Service Now, Jira, Datadog, Splunk, and PostgreSQL, within production and staging environments.
  • DE designing and developing unit, functional, integration, and smoke tests for distributed enterprise systems, using JUnit, Mockito, and MockServer; and testing all aspects of code -- edge and negative test cases to ensure mission critical code is reliable, using Bruno and Datadog.
  • DE designing and developing distributed enterprise systems, using SNS and SQS; and designing code to properly handle idempotency and ensure mission critical features are resilient, using Confluence and Jira.
