Geotab is seeking a Software Developer who will play a crucial part in integrating Keycloak as our central authentication platform. What you'll do:
As a Software Developer, your key area of responsibility will be designing and implementing the security architecture, optimizing server performance, and developing custom integration code and extensions for Keycloak in both Java and C#. You will be responsible for the implementation of the project tasks, as well as managing day-to-day activities. You will also need to provide regular status reports to key partners to ensure the project is on time and meeting expectations. You will need to work closely with other developers and stakeholders to ensure a seamless and reliable user experie
How you'll make an impact:
  • Integrate Keycloak with existing applications and systems and develop custom extensions to meet business requirements.
  • Design and implement security and architecture of the authentication infrastructure.
  • Ensure scalability and security of the authentication system through comprehensive testing, including Test-Driven and Security-Driven Development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Keycloak-related issues and plan/execute upgrades with minimal disruption.
  • Write and maintain secure, high-quality code in both Java and C# while conducting code reviews.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotating schedule.
What you'll bring to the role:
  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Electrical/Software Engineering, or a related degree.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Software Developer, with a strong background in Java, C#, and relational databases.
  • Deep expertise in authentication/authorization concepts and protocols (OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect).
  • Proven experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Keycloak installation, configuration, and scripting (preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to respond to fast-changing priorities.
  • To be eligible, candidates must have continuously resided in the continental United States for at least three years immediately preceding their application. Successful applicants will be required to provide verifiable documentation of continuous lawful residency. Some exceptions apply to US citizens.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced background check, including a drug screening test (if applicable) and a credit check.

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change. Geotab offers various perks and benefits and other compensation components that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary for this position depends on a variety of factors such as but not limited to skills, qualifications, education and overall experience, including the location the applicant lives while performing the job. This also includes equity with other team members and alignment with local market data. All offers of employment are contingent upon proof of eligibility to work and the individual's ability to pass a background check.
