Job description

The Network Engineer designs, installs, and maintains network systems. They are responsible for the secure configuration, operation, and design of Southeast Georgia Health System's network infrastructure. The engineer will also handle troubleshooting, provide advanced support, and assist in the design and implementation of new network features. Collaboration with vendors and other IT staff is essential for ongoing support and training. For our team members, this is more than a career - it's a calling.
You will be responsible for:
  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including voice, data, video, and wireless services.
  • Maintain and update computer networks, including software, VPNs, and hardware.
  • Installs and configures network equipment to resolve hardware or software issues, and updates virus protection and security software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for optimal operation of network systems.
  • Provides advanced support for personal computers and printers, and fixes software and hardware configuration issues for users.
  • Communicates networking issues and provides training to employees and management, assisting in the design of new system features as needed.
  • Troubleshoots problems with network systems and collaborates with vendors for selection, implementation, and ongoing support of equipment.
  • Ensure network security and stability, addressing potential threats proactively.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical network support.
  • Provide technical leadership and project management for network initiatives.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in IS/ Computer Science or a related area (or 4 years experience equivalent) required. Master's Degree in IS/ Computer Science or a related area preferred.
  • 5 - 10 years in network engineering and design preferred
  • CCNA certification minimum, CCNP preferred.
