General Summary:
The Business Systems Programmer is responsible for creating effective technical solutions through the design, development, testing, implementation, and improvement of business system applications.
Note: This is an on-site role based in Brunswick, GA. Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Applications Support (35%) - Helpdesk support, end-user issue resolution and training, enhancement recommendations, configuration changes, user acceptance testing, documenting programing and systems changes, and updating SOPs
  • Systems Analysis (20%) - design specifications and systems documentation
  • Project Management (20%) - project planning, managing the project lifecycle, task and change management, action planning; leading cross-functional initiatives for the implementation, use and improvement of processes, procedures and software
  • Applications Development (25%) - programming, documentation and maintenance of relational databases and other solutions; creates application front-ends and modifies existing applications

Requirements
  • BS Degree in Information Technology or closely related field
  • At least two years of experience in all phases of software development or a mix of software development and application support
  • Experience with manufacturing related systems/software including ERP, (QAD Preferred); Warehouse Management, EDI, O2C, P2P
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Stored Procedures and Transact-SQL
  • Experience with Analysis and Design of software solutions including system integrations
  • Experience with Progress OpenEdge 4GL programming language strongly preferred
  • Relentless and versatile learner; open to change; analyzes both successes and failures for clues to improvement; experiments and will try anything to find solutions; enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal specifications precisely and be forthcoming with questions if anything is unclear
  • Ability to share knowledge and teach others
