Position Summary
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic patient care, and assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse in charge of the unit. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner while being caring and compassionate at all times.
  • Provides direct resident care within the certified nursing assistant's scope of practice.
  • Communicates to the nurse any observed changes in resident status and responses, such as pain, vital signs, or intake and output.
  • Maintains self-motivation and sustains a high level of momentum and performance.
  • Maintains technical skills and knowledge by attending CNA skills workshops and completing required trainings.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of customer service concepts.
  • Works effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
  • Displays an understanding of electronic healthcare systems.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment within the units, such as lifts, patient beds, and chairs.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety, quality, and positive patient experience.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times by adhering to federal HIPAA regulations.
Education, Experience & Certification/Licensure Required
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant licensure through the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred
  • Working experience in Long-Term Care, Assisted Living, Private In-Home Care, or Rehab Facility.
