General Laborer - Las Vegas Graphic Solutions
Schedule: 2nd Shift (2pm to 10:30pm)
The opportunity:
Smurfit WestRock has an opportunity for a General Laborer at our facility in Las Vegas, NV. The Smurfit Westrock Las Vegas facility is a Graphics Solutions facility committed to creating a safe work environment, building motivated and engaged teams, and producing quality products for our customers. Our success is directly related to our safety, quality, and efficiency. This successful candidate will play a key role within the team here in Las Vegas.
How you will impact Smurfit WestRock:
  • Inspect rolls and complete all required quality checks
  • Maintain good housekeeping within work area
  • Assist team in reducing overall waste of the plant through monitoring web and making corrections as necessary
  • Performing pre-make ready, make ready, setups, and performing secondary activities
  • Inspect printing decks to ensure quality and productivity
  • Stage cutdown roll stock and cylinders for upcoming jobs per the production schedule
  • Actively involved with management, quality, and operators
  • Provide feedback and continuous improvement ideas to the team
  • Clean plates and inspect aniloxes prior to job
  • Assist with certain inventory items
  • Hands on approach to assist mounting and troubleshooting issues with mounting machines and new mounts
  • Data entry into Kiwi system and print tickets as needed
  • Operate Zamboni, forklift, and clamp trucks while also completing their daily inspections prior to use
  • Actively involved in all safety activities and keeping Safety a #1 priority
  • Other tasks as assigned

What you need to succeed:
  • Experience operating P.I.T. and/overhead cranes
  • The ability to work independently or within a team environment
  • Efficient in basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Be effective in verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work 12 hr shifts; days and/or nights
  • Must have good attendance
  • Willing to support the time by occasionally covering other shifts as needed
  • The ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or scheduled form.
  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
